Twitter Blue: Who are the celebrities who don’t want to pay Elon Musk 8 dollars a month to keep their account verified
Following Elon Musk’s takeover, the billionaire decided to introduce an eight-dollar monthly fee for people who want to get a blue check next to their names on Twitter.
The famous social media platform introduced the verification system back in 2009 after they were sued by former St. Louis Cardinals manager Tony La Russa for impersonation.
Celebrities tend to have verified accounts, but it is doubtful whether they will decide to pay in order to retain the blue tick after April 1. Several high-profile users have already declared that they are not willing to pay for their account to be verified.
